Introducing The Fool, the captivating, introspective sophomore album from California songwriter Aviva le Fey. 

The Fool took its first breaths at the very beginning of 2023 amidst a raging, unyielding Northern California storm - the kind of wind and rain that makes a mockery of careful planning, and instead demands complete surrender. A group of incredible musicians had already cleared their calendars and found their way to a rural, Sonoma County cabin - the home of dear friends & the perfect countryside recording studio. So lights or no lights, there really wasn’t a choice but to trust the process and walk towards the cliff. Huddled together over candles, generators, and playing cards, the songs of The Fool began to take form, evolving from Aviva’s carefully crafted, tender songs into the album’s big, honest, thoughtfully composed anthems. There were countless angels that made the sessions possible, and in many ways the very existence of the album feels like a miracle. 

The cycle of heartache, reflection, and reinvention is ever present throughout The Fool, with our narrator committing over and over to walk towards the life she wants, a steadfast follower of her deepest truth. It’s a meditation on having the courage to get your heart broken for the sake of possibility - to show up unguarded, flower in hand, face in the sun, with genuine trust in whatever lies ahead.         I’ll be a fool, as long as I’m around.
