The Lost Demos emerged during the fall of 2019, put to 1/2" tape in an Oakland living room that resembled a messy pawn shop inside of a museum of discarded artifacts, inside of a turn-of-the-century country home in the middle of nowhere. Nearly all parts of the demos were recorded by Tony Molina & Sarah Rose Janko over the course of 3 lost days, bringing in Jessie Leigh Smith on harmonica when tracks needed to feel a little extra blue. The engineer was mainly in charge of holding things together, along with capturing all the right tones at the right moments, keeping the numerous vocal tracks straight, and adding an occasional high harmony. In content, the Lost Demos EP is light-filled, melodic music about dark days & complicated relationships. But in its essence it approaches a simple euphoria - like the Pacific coast in the late summer, on a rare day with no wind, or a daytime drink in a good friend's backyard, laughing about what happened the night before. It may make you nostalgic for something that probably never happened, longing for some insight into those lost days.

Recorded by Kit Center at Long Road Studios on an 8-track Otari MX5050, mixed and mastered by Nick Bassett, and featuring Tony Molina on vocals, guitars, & bass, Sarah Rose Janko on vocals, guitar, & tambourine, Jessie Leigh Smith on harmonica (tracks 2 & 5) and Kit Center on vocals (track 5). All songs written by The Lost Days except track 5, written by Daniel Johnston. The single “In The Fade” releases March 26, 2021, and the Lost Demos EP releases on April 13, 2021 (limited-edition cassette/digital) on The Long Road Society (Oakland, CA).

Limited edition of 150. Cassette purchase includes digital download and Lost Days sticker.
